Full Description
November 2012. Norfolk NMP.
Earthworks of medieval to post medieval field boundaries or a possible settlement are visible on aerial photographs (S1) to the south of Manor Farm, Shropham. It is likely that these earthworks are related to the possible medieval to post medieval settlement identified through the recovery of finds dated to this period in the south-eastern part of this area (NHER 24049).
The site is centred on TL 9854 9352, and consists of a number of linear bank earthworks and at least two possible ditches, although all the earthworks are slightly ephemeral and difficult to see.
E. Ford (NMP), 15 November 2012.
March 2018. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
One of the excavated trenches coincided with the site of the southernmost earthwork in this group. No associated features or deposits were identified.
See report (S2) and NHER 68739 for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 12 December 2024.
