Summary

Baptist chapel erected in 1884, for a congregation which formed in 1653. This is a brick chapel with two short towers.

This Baptist chapel was erected in 1884; the main building material is gault brick with red brick dressings. The front of the building is gabled between terminal bays; these form two short towers which have round-arched doorways, there are tall upper windows and the roof is pyramidal. The church that met here was formed in the 1653 as a Independent congregation, were a meeting house was built in 1745 and enlarged in 1813. (S1) gives details of monuments.

Work to restore the Baptist chapel has now been completed. Work is still needed on the chapel windows which are set to happen in the spring.
