May 1990. Aircraft crash.
On 2 May 1990 an American F1-11 fighter jet on a training flight from RAF Lakenheath crashed in Binham (S1). The crew ejected and no one was hurt. The impact created a large crater, although flight investigators subsequently removed all of the wreckage from the site.
