Summary

A test pit excavated by the Loddon and District History Group in July 2012 revealed prehistoric flint flakes and potboilers as well as medieval, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds.

July 2012. Test pit.
A 1m x 1m test pit was excavated to the rear of Barclay's Bank, Church Plain, by the Loddon and District History Group on 7 July 2012. It revealed prehistoric flint flakes and pot boilers, Middle Saxon Ipswich ware pottery, Late Saxon Thetford ware potttery and medieval and post-medieval pottery, as well as more modern material.
