Summary

The earthworks of medieval to post medieval boundaries ditches are visible on aerial photographs at Hill Common Farms, Great Ellingham. Faden’s map of 1797 indicates that the site is located along the edge of common ground along the land ‘Attleborough Hills’ and it is feasible that this ditch represented a common-edge boundary. Although it is hard to be certain due to vegetation cover on the most recent Google Earth imagery it is seem likely that at least some of these survive as extant earthworks.
