Summary

Cropmarks of uncertain archaeological significance and origin are visible on aerial photographs. On aerial photographs from 1946 there are numerous ditch-like cropmarks seemingly indicating a fragmentary field system or group of ditched enclosures, however reference to later photography would suggest that the vast majority, if not all, actually relate to underlying periglacial features, which form large areas of rectilinear grid-like patterns. One grouping of ditch-like features within the centre of the site were mapped as they could not be discounted as geological through references to additional aerial photograph sources. However given the presence of similar non-archaeological cropmarks in vicinity, a great deal of caution must be applied when considering their significance. However conversely it is also feasible that some archaeological cropmarks may have not been recognised within this area of dense seemingly non-archaeological marks.
