July 2000. Building Survey.
Survey of redundant farm buildings prior to their proposed conversion into four residential units and one non-residential unit.
Nine buildings dating from the 17th century to the 20th century were investigated. Eight of the structures are ranged around a central yard, while the ninth building is parallel with one of the yard buildings and faces outwards.
The northern range of buildings consists of a late-17th century barn included in the National Heritage List for England on the east (building 3) and two 18th century barns with brick plinth and timber-framed walls to the west (buildings 1 and 2). The westernmost structure appears to have been used as a stable at some time.
The eastern range consists of two 19th century buildings with a shared clay lump wall to the north (buildings 4 and 5) and a mid-18th century red brick barn to the south (building 6, Listed). The westernmost structure (building 4) is open to the yard.
The southern range consists of a single brick building (building 7) open to the yard apart from a small room on the west end.
The western range is detached from the other buildings and consists of two 19th century brick buildings: open to the yard (building 8) and one which opens away from the yard (building 9).
See report (S3) for further details.
See (S4) for information on proposed conversion.
H. Hamilton (HES), 20 February 2013.

May 2001. Field Observation.
Inspection of the barns confirmed the suggested 18th century date for construction of Building 2 and early 17th century for Building 3 (Listed).
It is suggested that the brick comprising the upper and lower courses in Building 6 (Listed) date to 1770-1780.
See report (S5) and photographs (S6) for further details.
