Summary

In 2001 prehistoric worked flints, potentially prehistoric burnt flints and a number of post-medieval objects were recovered during the excavation of a cable trench. Metal-detecting in 2013 recovered a sherd of Roman pottery and an unusual Late Saxon stirrup strap mount.

June-July 2001. Watching Brief.
Observation of trench dug for new electricity cable running between Bacton and North Walsham (Field 36).
No archaeologically significant features or deposits observed.
Unstratified finds recovered included:
15 ?prehistoric burnt flints.
3 prehistoric worked flints (types not specified).
1 post-medieval pottery sherd and 1 brick/tile fragment.
