Summary

Metal-detecting between 2013 and 2020 recovered a medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval token and a number of other, Late Iron Age/Roman, Roman and Middle/Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; a Roman brooch and ring-key fragment; a Middle/Late Saxon pin; a Late Saxon brooch and Carolingian-style silver mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a medieval silver coin brooch); a medieval thimble, book clasp, leash swivel, scale tang knife end-cap and lead alloy probable plaque; a medieval/post-medieval chafing dish fragment, copper alloy stud and copper alloy vessel drop handle fragment and post-medieval spur fragments, a harness mount and toggle clasp from a sword belt.

The Late Saxon silver mount was declared Treasure at inquest (Ref: 2013 T195) and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2014.100).
