Map

June 2013.
A substantial section of park boundary bank and ditch was noted during a survey in 1997 (S1). The boundary runs alongside Denton Road and turns north along Hall Road to the main entrance to the hall. The section alongside Denton Road is a flat topped bank, 8-15 m wide with a ditch to the south, up to 8 m wide. The profile of the boundary has been reduced by the gardens of the Lodge. Alonside Hall Road the bank is convex and better defined, although the ditch is less obvious.

The NCC inventory of Parks (S2) notes that the parkland was extended in 1770 to reach the perimeter roads. It is likely that this feature therefore dates to this time.
