Summary

Fieldwalking undertaken during 1969 identified a scatter of medieval pottery. These sherds are likely to represent an area of medieval occupation. Subsequent metal-detecting in this area recovered a single post-medieval coin.

1969. Fieldwalking.
Area investigated as part of a much wider examination of Horningtoft village. This site was one of a number to produce medieval pottery and was interpreted as a probable area of medieval occupation. No Middle or Late Saxon pottery was recovered. See (S1) for further details. The pottery recovered is now held by the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1998.50.30 : A).
