Summary

Metal-detecting between 2013 and 2024 recovered Neolithic to Bronge Age worked flints, including a Neolithic core and Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes; Roman and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds and a range of other, Late Bronze Age, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated copper alloy unidentified object; a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead; Roman brooches and a seal box; Late Saxon strap ends, a strirrup-strap mount, sword guard fragment and probable furniture mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including post-medieval silver hooked tags); medieval thimbles, a harness mount, possible portable furniture or mazer (vessel) mount, scabbard chape, ewer fragment and copper alloy stud; a medieval/post-medieval writing lead, lead spindle whorls and lead weights and post-medieval crotal bells, a knife end cap, toy cannon, copper alloy and lead weights, lead powder flask cap, lead cloth seal and lead weight.
