Summary

Systematic fieldwalking and metal-detecting by Caistor Roman Town Project in 2013 recovered a Late Saxon/medieval pottery sherd, Roman coins and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include medieval buckles and a purse bar fragment and post-medieval buttons, a buckle, spoon, furniture escutcheon and probable lead weight. Metal-detecting between 2016 and 2018 recovered a Roman votive miniature axe and a medieval strap end and copper alloy seal matrix.
