Summary

Metal-detecting in 2014 and 2015 recovered a post-medieval gunflint, a medieval/post-medieval jetton and a range of other, Middle Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age spearhead fragment and rare dirk; a Roman brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon brooch; medieval to post-medieval buckles; a medieval brooch, hooked attachment for spur leathers, sword-scabbard chape, furniture drop handle, monumental brass and copper alloy stud; a medieval/post-medieval spoon, copper alloy vessel fragments, silver dress fastener and hoard of four gold finger rings and post-medieval harness mounts, sword-belt fittings, thimbles, a spur rowel, crotal bell, gold dress fastener, small lead vessel, lead mount, lead powder charge cap, lead weights and lead cloth seals.

Medieval buckles, a brooch, sword-scabbard chape, hooked attachment for spur leathers, furniture drop handle, monumental brass (S3) and copper alloy stud.
Medieval/post-medieval buckle, part of a spoon, copper alloy vessel fragments, a silver dress fastener eye plate and 4 gold finger rings (including a posy ring and 2 mourning rings).
Post-medieval buckles, harness mounts, hooked pendants from one or more sword belt hangers, thimbles, a spur rowel, crotal bell, small lead vessel, lead mount, lead powder charge cap, lead weights, lead cloth seals and a gunflint.

The Middle Bronze Age dirk has now been acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2015.30).
The Middle/Late Saxon silver brooch was declared Treasure at inquest (Ref: 2014 T316) and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2015.80).
The medieval/post-medieval gold finger rings are thought to form a hoard and were declared Treasure at inquest (Refs: 2014 T323, 2014 T324, 2014 T325 and 2014 T326). The posy ring was subsequently donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2017.51) and they subsequently acquired at least one of the other finger rings - see local press article (S4).
The medieval/post-medieval silver dress fastener was disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2014 T317) and returned to the finder.
