Summary

Metal-detecting at this location between 2014 and 2024 recovered a post-medieval coin and several other metal objects, including a medieval sword or dagger pommel; a post-medieval sword hilt/guard and a potentially post-medieval lead unidentified object.

June 2018. Metal-detecting. Site extended to the whole field. [2].
Post-medieval copper alloy sword hilt/guard. Comprised of a central oval shaft with a horizontal lug project either side, one of which exhibits a finger loop. Traces of moulded decoration are visible on both sides.
