Summary

In 1986 a prehistoric flint core was found during fieldwalking at this location. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2014 and 2018 recovered Roman and Early Saxon pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons and a number of other, Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval pot mend, scabbard chape and thimble; medieval/post-medieval lead weights and a post-medieval crotal bell, finger ring and cloth seal.

Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU).
