Summary

A medieval boundary ditch was revealed in the south-east corner of the site and may be the original medieval boundary to the plots now defined by Greenacres and Hillcrest. The excavation of the footprint of the house revealed 23 pits of varying shapes and sizes which can be attributed to medieval clay extraction. A stone-packed oval pit may be part of a former post-pit. Finds from the site included a Roman brick, several late post-medieval buttons and an 18th century crotal bell.
