Summary

No significant archaeological deposits were recovered. The work did reveal that the area may have been levelled in the late 19th century, presumably at the time Glebe Cottage was constructed. A flint and mortar-lined well and two late 19th century pits were recorded. A single sherd of medieval pottery and a post-medieval strap-end were recovered.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with rebuilding and extension of cottage.
No significant archaeological deposits were recovered. The work did reveal that the area may have been levelled in the late 19th century, presumably at the time Glebe Cottage was constructed. A flint and mortar-lined well and two late 19th century pits were recorded. A single sherd of medieval pottery and a post-medieval strap-end were recovered.
