November 2013. Historic Building Recording.
A basic record was made of The Old Keeper's Cottage, ahead of its proposed demolition.
The building is believed to date from the mid 19th century with a series of later alterations and a replacement roof. It was of brick and pantile with replacement Crittal type windows in altered window openings. It suffered subsidence and damp problems in the 20th century and in 1966 a new dwelling was constructed on the west side of Wash Lane. From this date the cottage was unoccupied but still used in association with game shooting activities.
See report (S1) for further details.
A. Yardy (HES), 29 December 2014.
