Summary

In 2013 a test pit was excavated at this location by the Docking Heritage Group. Finds recovered included prehistoric flint flakes; medieval, post-medieval and modern pottery sherds and post-medieval clay pipe stems.

July 2013. Test Pit.
Excavation of a 1m x 1m archaeological test pit by Docking Heritage Group. Finds recovered included:
2 prehistoric flint flakes.
1 medieval pottery sherd (local medieval unglazed ware).
Post-medieval pottery sherds and clay pipe stems.
Modern pottery sherds.
Other material recovered included oyster and cockle shells, animal bones, coal, slate, iron nails and bottle glass.
