Full Description
March 2012. Watching Brief.
The Broads Internal Drainage Board excavated approximately 1m of material from the northern edge of this dyke as part of a program of works to increase the suitable habitat for grasswrack pondweed (potomogeton compressus), a nationally scarce species of aquatic plant. One visit was made during these works. The soil was visually scanned, but no artefacts were observed. It was not possible to view the newly cut edge as the dyke was not pumped out.
See report (S1) for further information.
An archive associated with this work has been deposited with Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2012.236).
