Full Description
August-September 2012. Watching Brief.
Environment Agency works to restore the River Wensum were carried out under archaeological supervision.
At this location, an area of topsoil was stripped in order to receive a new raised bank and a new dyke was excavated. These groundworks were monitored over several site visits but no archaeological features were identified. Finds were limited to modern shotgun cartridges and fragments of farm machinery.
