Summary

A timber-framed, two-storey house encased in 18th century brick with an 18th century wing on the north-west and a 19th century addition on the south-west. This house was constructed on the site of an earlier, moated Tudor house (NHER 10175) constructed by Sir Ralph Shelton in the late 15th century, and still stands within the square moat.

This 18th century hall was constructed on the site of an earlier, moated Tudor house (NHER 10175) constructed by Sir Ralph Shelton in the late 15th century. The 18th century home still stands within the square Tudor moat. A 16th century jettied outbuilding (NHER 60713) survived within the grounds until the late 1980’s or early 1990’s and an early 17th century brick barn (NHER 53940) also remains.
This building was formerly recorded under NHER 10175.

September 1951. Listed. Grade II.
A timber-framed house encased in 18th century brick (painted). Steep hipped roof with black glazed pantiles: Two storeys and attic.
Five bays. Two and 3-light casements. Three dormers with cambered heads. Right of centre pilastered doorcase with panelled door and late 19th century wooden porch.
18th century brick wing on north-west, single-storey and attic, and 19th century addition on south-west.

Present hall is c. 1800, with perhaps a slightly older part, and crinkle-crankle wall along northwest side.
