Map

April 2015. Field visit.
A surviving brick wall that was built into the southern bank of Little Ouse River. A modern footbridge has been constructed on top of it.
The wall would have been part of Croxton Staunch, a lock/water control structure that is shown on (S1). A similar structure was located about 1.7km upstream (NHER 61029).
(S1) suggests there would have been a matching wall on the northern bank of the river, but this has not survived.
D. Robertson (HES), 16 July 2015.
