Map

November-December 2014. Watching Brief.
Topsoil stripping and excavation of a narrow trench for installation of a sewerage pipe was monitored.
No archaeological features or finds were observed during these works. Topsoil stripping of the easement for the pipeline did reach geological sand over the majority of the area and natural geological chalk was exposed at the base of the pipe trench. However, topsoil stripping in the southeast of the site did not penetrate the subsoil.
