September 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of a probable World War Two underground structure may be visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) near the site of the later Cold War bunker (NHER 36959). Press cuttings for the bunker (S3-S4) indicate that the structure was originally a World War Two site that was amended in the 1980s. It is therefore possible that the area of hard standing, a polygonal roofed structure and the edge of a possible semi-sunken structure that are just visible within the tree-line relate to the original World War Two structure. However it must be noted that there is a discrepancy between the location of these structures at TG 1746 1390 and the recorded location of the bunker at TG 1742 1387.
