Summary

A watching brief undertaken during the installation of a new pipeline in 2007 identified a pit in this field that produced a number of prehistoric worked flints and a significant quantity of burnt flint. The worked flints were in a fairly unworn condition suggesting that they were probably not residual.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with the installation of the Colney Yare Valley Pipeline (Field 6).
A single pit was recorded in this field. This feature contained a number of worked flints (including several Early Neolithic pieces) and a significant quantity of heat-affected flint. The worked flints were in a fairly unworn condition, suggesting may well not have been residual.
