Summary

Metal-detecting in 2015 and 2024 recovered Late Saxon, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch and spoon; an Early Saxon brooch; a Late Saxon openwork strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval thimbles, a chafing dish fragment, strap or harness stud and lead weights; medieval/post-medieval purse frame, copper alloy vessel fragment, copper alloy ring and lead pot mends and a post-medieval harness mount, book fitting, harness mount, pin and sword belt fitting.

Late Saxon openwork strap-end (S1). The lower part is in the form form of an animal head with moulded ears, eyes and snout, holding an openwork plate in its mouth.
