November 1994. Trial Trench and Watching Brief.
Archaeological work necessitated by the installation of a septic tank and associated drains. The septic tank and main drain were inserted without an archaeological presence on site. A single evaluation was then excavated on the proposed line of one of the unexcavated drains. This trench revealed no archaeologically signficant features. A watching brief during the excavation of the remaining drains also failed to identify any archaeologically significant features.
A small number of finds were recovered from spoil heaps, including:
20 Roman pottery sherds and 1 tegula.
1 post-medieval pottery sherd.
