Full Description
Metal-detecting. [1].
Middle Bronze Age incomplete notched-butt type short rapier (S1). The blade is bent, possibly deliberately, halfway along the length.
Information from PAS import.
Found around 35cm deep on land which is currently pasture but which has been ploughed in the past, below the level of previous ploughing. Extensive metal-detecting of the area produced no other Bronze Age artefacts.
E. McDonald (HES), 1 April 2020.
