Summary

A flint and brick parish church constructed in 1854 just to the south of the ruins of a late-15th century church (NHER 8694) that was also dedicated to St Edmund. This building was Listed grade II in 1987.

St Edmund's Church, West Caister
This is the current parish church for West Caister, constructed in 1854 to the south of a late-15th century church (NHER 8694) which was also dedicated to St Edmund but had fallen into ruins in the 17th century.
This building was previously recorded under NHER 8694.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Parish church. 1854. Flint south facade, gault brick returns and red brick rear elevation. Slate roof to front, concrete tiles to rear. Central gabled south porch with ashlar arched doorway. Punched encircled trefoil in gable head. One-light timber round-headed side windows with leaded lights."
