Summary

A surface scatter of Roman pottery was noted before 1971. This may be related to cropmarks NHER 39016 to 39017. Metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 2010 and 2019 recovered prehistoric worked flints, Romano-British and medieval pottery sherds, Roman coins, Romano-British, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval metal objects including a Romano-British enamelled plate brooch and a post-medieval sword belt mount.

Found before 1971. Surface scatter of Roman pottery; mostly grey ware, including rim sherd of ?mortarium, and buff ware.

These cropmarks are of a rectangular enclosure with smaller rectangle in one corner, and a double ditched trackway along one side, and a number of linear possible field boundaries, askew to present layout, extending for some distance each side.
