Summary

Groundworks monitored at this site in 2014 revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits. Two post-holes observed in one of the stripped areas correspond with a 19th-century boundary that previously subdivided this area. A small number of finds were recovered including an Early Neolithic flint scraper, a medieval pottery sherds and a post-medieval buckle and musket balls.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of extension at Hill Farm.
The only features present in the stripped areas were a pair of square post-holes. These almost certainly corresponded with an east-to-west aligned boundary fence that can be seen on the late 19th-century 1st Edition O.S map.
A small number of finds were recovered from unstratified contexts including an Early Neolithic flint scraper, a medieval pottery sherds and a post-medieval buckle and musket balls.
