Map

Archaeological mitigation work undertaken during installation of underground power cable.
Although a series of trenches were excavated no archaeologically significant remains were observed. Natural geological deposits were encountered in all trenches, being shown to drop appreciably from west to east. In the easternmost part of the field the fills of a large post-medieval pond were encountered. This feature is shown on late 19th century maps and was not infilled until the 1970s.
See report (S1) for further details and NHER 61888 for information on the deposits encountered to the east.
