Map

A probable Bronze Age round barrow has been identified as an earthwork on the ground and is visible on lidar imagery from a survey flown in 2015 (S1). It is very likely that the earthwork still survives. It forms part of a probable small barrow cemetery (NHER 61502). Like most of the other barrows in the cemetery, the mound was first recorded and surveyed in 1973; see NHER 5649 (context 3) and Historic England Archive record TL 88 NW 14 (S2). The feature visible on the lidar is not particularly clear or well-defined, but does broadly correspond with the mound depicted on modern Ordnance Survey maps. Its morphology, topographical location and archaeological context make its interpretation as a round barrow highly likely.
This barrow was previously recorded as part of NHER 5649.
