Summary

Metal-detecting in 2016 recovered a large number of Roman coins and pottery sherds; a medieval pottery sherd; a Roman flue tile fragment and tegula fragment and Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch and minitature axe; a medieval/post-medieval buckle and a post-medieval button and clapper bell. The finds were recovered from spoil redeposited during the construction of a Biomass Conversion Plant and scattered to the south and east of the construction site.

1 medieval pottery sherd.

The finds were recovered from spoil redeposited during the stripping of land and the excavation of a 'pit and drainage trench' for the construction of a Biomass Conversion Plant (Context 1). The spoil was scattered to the south and east of the construction site.
