Summary

The earthworks of two possible mounds, possibly relating to the site of prehistoric barrows, have tentatively been identified on the 0.5m resolution Lidar data) within plantation to the north of Broom Belt. The earthworks are relatively slight and may relate to either geomorphological features or spoil from the various extraction activities in the area. However the location near to a known group of barrows (NHER 32594, NHER 33453, and NHER 33454) could suggest that they are also barrows. The dimensions, both approximately 35m by 27m, slightly oval in shape, compares well with NHER 32594 in particular.
