Summary

The earthworks of a series of banks, ditches and mounds of unknown, but probably medieval to post-medieval date, are visible on aerial photographs and the 1m resolution lidar data. It is possible that they relate to minor subdivision of the common or relate to the widespread extraction in the area (NHER 61564). It is not clear whether nearby bank recorded within BNH 054 (SHER) is related to this site or a twentieth century defensive feature.
