Full Description
February 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
The earthworks of three mounds of uncertain date and archaeological significance are visible on the 1m resolution lidar data (S1-S2). The site is generally obscured by trees, although it must be noted that no conclusive trace of the features could be seen on (S3) where the site is partially visible – making the interpretation or dismissal of the features problematic. A ground visit would be required to ascertain whether these features are modern and of no-archaeological interest or whether they relate to the twentieth century military activities at Barham camp (SHER BNH 054).
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 22 February 2017.
