Full Description
April 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A light-coloured vegetation mark visible on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2) in the vicinity of the Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves (NHER 5640) could represent an additional area of contemporary mining. Its interpretation as an archaeological feature is uncertain, however, and it could equally reflect an underlying geological feature, or a more recent quarry pit. The feature has been mapped by extent.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 5 April 2017.
