Summary

An area of slight ridges may be visible on the 0.5m resolution Lidar data at this location. Two faint sets of ridges can possibly be discerned, running north-south and east-west. Earthworks similar to this have tentatively been interpreted as possible ridge and furrow cultivation or plantation ridges, potentially of post-medieval date. However the fact that potential earthworks visible on the historic aerial photographs (NHER 62101) in this location do not appear on the same lidar data would suggest that these ridges relate to twentieth century forestry activity.
