Summary

An undated mound is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015, and perhaps also as a vegetation mark on aerial photographs. Like two other mounds identified in the vicinity (NHER 62046 and NHER 62047), it could represent a Bronze Age round barrow. In this case, however, its rather oval shape may indicate a different origin.

Map

July 2017. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
An undated mound is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015 (S1). It may also be visible as a dark vegetation mark on aerial photographs (S2). Like two other mounds identified in the vicinity (NHER 62046 and NHER 62047), it could represent a Bronze Age round barrow. In this case, however, its rather oval shape may indicate a different origin. It is rather small for a Neolithic oval barrow, but this is one possible interpretation.
