Full Description
February 1979. Listed Grade II.
Listing Description Excerpt:
"Formerly a police station. Late C16/early C17. Timber frame; 2 storeys. First floor jettied and plastered, ground floor painted brick facing, probably C18. Steep pantile roof with coped gable ends. First floor 2 C18 or early C19 3-light wood mullion/transom casements."

No apparent remains of the leper hospital (NHER 2060); Baverstock House (former police station), a 17th century jettied building with later outbuildings entered by an ironbound door, stands on site.

The northern extension of this building has a 19th century street façade but incorporating a genuine plaque 1682 with initials. Does this relate to Baverstock House or does it come from elsewhere? (seen Sept 1995).
