Full Description
May 1987. Building Survey.
Two-storey brick building set gable-end onto the street.
This structure is of two builds. The first, possibly late 17th century building consists of one room to either side of a stack. It is of interest because there is no evidence of a door either in the gable end or against the stack. Instead, there is evidence of a blocked door opening into the room beyond the stack. In the 18th century the upper walls of what was probably a one-and-a-half storey building were reconstructed and the building lengthened to the east. Pilaster buttresses were also added to the west end and the whole length of the building on both sides finished with a dentil cornice.
Largely defenestrated in the 20th century and re-roofed above a rebuilt gable. Much altered during its modern conversion into a shop.
See report (S1) for further details and floor plan.
