Summary

This painted red brick shop dates to the late 17th century (although a later date has been suggested) and was originally a two storey building of uncertain use. It was altered in the 18th century before being heightened and subsequently renovated during the 20th century. The shopfront with pilasters and small hood dates to the 19th century.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Former use unknown, now shop. Late 17th century with 18th-century alterations, 20th-century heightening and later 20th-century renovation. Painted and red brick. Roof not visible, three storeys. Three bays. 19th-century shopfront with pilasters and small hood and door to left-hand side."

1970s or 1980s. Building Survey.
Briefly examined as part of Norwich Survey.
Three storey brick block of 18th- or 19th-century date. Two rooms deep and gutted for commercial use. Stack stair on east wall. Top floor built/rebuilt during the 20th century. 18th- 19th-century cellar but no evidence for a vaulted undercroft.
