Summary

This three-storey building, now a house and shop, dates to the 16th century and is probably timber framed. The façade is 19th-century and there is a late 19th-century shopfront with ornamented console brackets and dentil cornice.

1986. Listed Grade II.
House and shop. 16th century and later, with 19th-century façade. Stuccoed, probably timber framed. Roof cladding not visible. Three storeys. Late 19th-century shop front with ornamented console brackets at angles and dentil cornice. The upper two storeys in two bays articulated by pilasters. Moulded cornice with oversailing eaves band at mid first floor level, the moulding to the left pilasters set slightly higher. First floor, left hand canted bay window in moulded surround with console brackets to canopy. Two right-hand leaded cross casements in similar surrounds. Three second floor sashes with glazing bars in simple moulded surrounds.

A record card found in the A. Carter archive (copy in file) suggests that this building was considered as part of the Norwich Survey. However, the only information recorded are is that it appears in (S2) and a possible association with Geo Birch (Sheriff 1604, Mayor 1621).
