Summary

This two-storey building, which is of uncertain original use, dates to the 17th century and was much altered in the 19th century. It has painted brick walls, a pantile roof and modern shopfronts. Repair work revealed the front wall to be timber framed and elements of the 17th century roof have been observed in the roof space. Listed Grade II.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Former use unknown, three shops, restaurant over. 17th-century, much altered C19. Painted brick and pantiled roof. Follows street line. Two storeys. Five double hung timber light sash windows to first floor, three modern shopfronts to ground floor. Central chimney. Front wall reported to be timber framed on recent repairs."
