Summary

A rectilinear enclosure of unknown date is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and imagery from a lidar survey flown in 2015. Like many of the other enclosures recorded in the area, it could be of post-medieval date and related to warrening. However, it could equally date to an earlier period. Finds of prehistoric, Roman and medieval date have been recovered from a site 150m to the south (NHER 32344), and the enclosure appears to be overlain by a larger rectilinear enclosure (NHER 62077), suggesting that it pre-dates this at least. A possible mound (NHER 62000), perhaps a Bronze Age round barrow, lies in the southeastern corner of the enclosure. An area of ridging (NHER 62123), which mainly lies to the north, appears to extend across the enclosure, and to share some of its boundaries; the precise nature of the relationship between the two sites is unclear but they may be at least partly contemporary.

A rectilinear enclosure of unknown date is visible as an earthwork on imagery from a recent lidar survey flown in 2015 (S1); it is also partially visible, but only faintly, on aerial photographs (S2). A possible mound (NHER 62000), perhaps a Bronze Age round barrow, lies in the southeastern corner of the enclosure, but the archaeological significance of this feature is uncertain. An area of ridging (NHER 62123), which mainly lies to the north, appears to extend across the enclosure, and to share some of its boundaries; the precise nature of the relationship between the two sites is unclear but they may be at least partly contemporary.
