Full Description
December 2016. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of possible development area (Area G West).
This survey identified a number of potentially archaeologically significant anomalies including two perpendicular linear anomalies that could present two sides of an enclosure. A large square-shaped positive anomaly at the point where these possible ditches meet may denote the presence of a large pit or area of burning. A number of other smaller discrete positive anomalies may also indicate pits.
The other linear anomalies detected were most likely associated with plough or tractor ruts and a large highly magnetic discrete anomaly probably indicates modern ferrous remains.
See report (S1) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 9 February 2018.
January 2017. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of excavation of engineering trial pit in proposed development area (Trial Pit 11).
No archaeologically significant features or deposits observed.
See report (S2) for further details.
