Map

The cropmarks and soilmarks of the three previously recorded ring ditches are clearly visible on the aerial photographs (S1-S4). These features were previously recorded under NHER 12854 – a site of Neolithic finds. The underlying ‘patterned’ periglacial marks make it hard to be certain whether other ring ditches are present. The ring ditches are likely to relate to a small Bronze Age round barrow cemetery. Although the Neolithic finds from the site could suggest a Neolithic origin for at least one of the barrows. The soilmarks of the three ring ditches indicate a broad ditches (up to 5m), although this may be the result of spreading of ditch material. Traces of the former mounds are visible on (S4).
